How to Block Emails for a More Stress-Free Inbox

  2. Click more in the top right section
  3. Select Block [sender]

If you ever want to unblock a sender, you can follow the same steps and select the option to remove an email from your block list.

Unsubscribe from Emails

Are you the type of person who subscribes to lots of different newsletters and other promotional materials? If so, you might eventually get tired of the email clutter. It can get overwhelming to have to sort through everything, after all.

You can put a stop to the unwanted emails by opening the messages, looking for the unsubscribe link usually included at the bottom of the page, and then clicking on the link to be removed from the list.

If you open a promotional email in your Gmail account, for instance, you’ll see Unsubscribe next to the email of the sender. Click on the hyperlink to unsubscribe from further emails from that sender.

Flag Spam Emails

Another way to handle unwanted emails is by flagging phishing email and spam email whenever you find them in your inbox. If you do so, future emails from those addresses will end up in the spam folder.

When you open up an email in your Gmail account, you can flag it as sam if appropriate by clicking on the circular symbol with an exclamation mark in the center of it. You’ll find it near the top left-hand section.

You can avoid encountering the same email scams over and over by flagging them.
